McDonalds
This is pretty random but... I was wondering how much do you think McDonalds makes in profit per sale? Per sale meaning one regular combo coming out to about 7 dollars for a Burger/Fries/Drink. How much does it cost to make these?

Its a lot more complicated than that soda.
Fryer oil comes in 5 gallon jugs also their cost is a lot less than that because they buy all their ingredients by the ton or drum (depending on what it is). So they get things for pennies on the dollar. You also have to take into account the wage you are paying the workers to make the combo and the cost of the food wrappers and containers like the fry boxes and cups.
Also I am not sure about the food industry but most retail stores mark up the things they sell for a minimum of 120%.
So with out scouring the web for info and strictly shooting from the hip I would not be surprised if a big mac combo only cost them around 2 to 3 bucks.

So basically they're ripping you off and laughing all the way to the bank. The largest markup is on soft drinks.

Bingo, thats what I heard from a fellow classmate that works at a McDonalds. The cups are really cheap maybe >10 cents yet they charge what like a dollar+ for one? The syrup in the machines to make the soda from what I understand is really cheap as well.
Id say they are rolling around in the cash they make, no numbers though

It costs them between 7-11 cents per meal, it is roughly a 10,000% markup.

If Mcdonald's combos cost consumers any less, then North America would be overweight people whining about how their weight is a result of how Mcdonald's is cheaper than grocery store food.
Oh wait....lol

More like 7-11 cents for the fries. I was a manager at Burger King. Its all very cheap, but it really isn't as cheap as some of you think.

It's exceedingly cheap on the margin though if you think about it. How many meals a day did you sell?
I mean, profit margin per item sold must be 400%

I don't know about hamburgers, but pizza is legalized theft. My mom was a waitress in a pizza joint for a while and it cost them about a $1 to make a pizza, not including labor. That was a long time ago, but I doubt the price has gone up much.

Everyone knows you can't put a price on freedom.
Therefore, freedom fries are of incalculable value and thus is a good bargin for only $2.

they make around 2 million in coffee each day...
so just imagin how much they make over all?
*source: anyone remember that case where the lady spilt her 190 degrees (F) coffee on herself? She almost won $2,000,000 in coffee because it was worth how much time she spent in the hospital relating to how much coffee would be sold in the time period she was there.

It prolly is around 20 cents or so for a whole combo. Buying in bulk works miracles.
